Sheri is a proud supporter of organizations that make a difference in the lives of children, especially Reading Is Fundamental and the Girl Scouts of America. Little Rose was surrounded by weeds and never felt as if she fit in with them. Little Rose was teased, called names and treated poorly by those around her.
Suddenly one day a Lady noticed Little Rose and came back the next day and transplanted her into a flower bed at her home.
Being in a new environment where she is cared for and treated nicely, Little Rose thrives and enjoys life. This is a beautiful story illustrating how people, adults and children alike, respond to those around them and their environments. Just as Little Rose was miserable, stayed small and felt bad about herself in a bed of weeds, so will people who are surrounded by others who do not treat them well. In order to be happy and live up to one's potential, one must be surrounded by others who treat one another with kindness and is given an opportunity to be one's self and grow.
This is a good and important lesson for children and a reminder for adults. The story is easy to read as it flows well, is easily understood and is geared toward children and would be a great resource for parents, teachers and counselors. I think this book will be appreciated by people of all ages as it is a timeless lesson that is beautifully illustrated both verbally and visually. Once again Received this book thru Josephine Blake as a giveaway that I won. Once again the author has created a sweet, loving and trusting character who shows nothing but kindness and thoughtfulness to the people around her. Her parents do what they must to protect her by traveling back home to Dianna's home. She meets her Aunt's and Grandparents for the first time ever.
Will Roses sweetness win them all over?
Does the bad guy get away with his revenge? Only one way to find out. The author does address some bigotry and prejudice while not going too over the top with it, so I do thank her for that. There's adventure, danger, love and kindness and even forgiveness. The character's do stay true to themselves and their beliefs. I highly recommend this book to other's. I read this book courtesy of kindle unlimited shortly after finishing the first book in the series - Dianna. The author began where she finished in the last book but did a good job of giving a precis of events for new readers.
As such this can be read as a stand-alone. It was another quick read filled with lots of action and nicely brought an end to the story of Dianna and Shiye.
